Under Eye Circles & HG Concealer

I don't know why i'm showing you my eye without concealer.
They are my biggest hate...& if i could change one thing about myself..(besdies my legs) it would be that i had no dark circles.
Unfortunately, it kindof runs in my family, so concealer is the only answer.

When i say i have tried loads of concealers under my eyes, that is somewhat of an understatement...

The one concealer to have ever proved just right, is ...
*Drum roll please*

Gosh Touch Up Concealer in No2

I know i have mentioned this alot in previous posts, and i have had many people asking me questions on it, and emailing me about it, so i thought it was about time i did a proper review on it.

I think what makes this concealer work so well (with my skintone anyway) is the fact it has a salmony undertone...obviously, orange cancels out blue, so the pinky-orange tone of the concealer works very well to disguise the blue under your eyes.
There is one other colour in the same range, which is shade 1, but this does not contain the same colour..so i can't say it would perform aswell. I also love the consistency of it, how easy it is to blend and the fact it has NEVER gone cakey, which so many concealers seem to do under my eyes.

I thought i would show you some before and after images to prove how much i love it...
I still can't believe i am showing you all this..haha

I know the last picture looks edited, but i promise i havent touched the brightness or the contrast, i think i was closer to the window..or the sun came out...might have to tilt your laptop screen haha

I love this stuff so much. I just find it covers the perfect amount. If the concealer is alot darker than your skintone, you can always use a touch of light reflecting concealer over the top lightly, i sometimes do this when im feeling particularly pale, or dark eyed.
My favourite under eye combo is this concealer with a touch of Benefit Erase Paste in no 1 on darker areas. I havent demonstrated that in the above photos though.

The concealer retails for around £6-7 & can be bought in Superdrug!

When I set out to buy one thing...

...I always end up buying something else. Isn't that always the way though?

I actually went into town to purchase the new sims game (I know, i know..i'm 19 years old, why do i want that?) haha well if you must know i love it & i have always been a fan ever since the first sims came on the scene 10 years ago. The good old days of "Hot date" and "Vacation"..Me and my friend would spend hours creating characters that looked like us and then running and ruining theirs lives as we pleased. Who doesn't like playing god?

BTW..for those of you who share this obsession, i highly reccommend Sims3. I'm not here to do a full blown review don't panick, but it's so much fun & hours simply fly by. It can get a bit addictive so i would suggest you set aside some sims time. :D

Anyway, I bought the Sims3 game and then thought "right, well..i'll be off then" but i still had time to spare as my boyfriends brother had driven me in and he was off doing his own thing. So obviously i strolled into a few shops. Here are my purchases..

I managed to find a glamour mag. I looked in most shops and they didn't have any. But M&S had a lovely supply. This month Glamour gave us all a treat and threw in a Benefit BADgal mascara. (Many people's HG mascara) If any of you hadn't already noticed this i suggest you run out a grab one while they're still around.

I then bought "Well Dressed" blush from Mac as i'd heard alot of good feedback from other makeup junkies. I had swatched this a few times beforehand and thought it was gorgeous. It's a very pretty baby pink, and brightens my complexion nicely :)

In Mac, i also purchased "Hue" lipstick. This is a gorgeous nude and i'm so surprised i didn't already own this because i am loving it, and it should be a staple in any Nude-Fan's collection.
I also purchased the Barry M lip paint in 53, a gorgeous coral. The colour does seem quite scary but it actually comes out a very pretty sheer colour.

In Superdrug GOSH is currently 3 for 2 and i took up on this offer as my mum has asked me to pick up a concealer for her, so i bought the eyeshadow base (Pictured in first pic). Which is gorgeous white with blue iridescence. I have yet to test it for its staying/non creasing power. I also picked up this "Light N Shine lip glaze" in NO5. I picked this up because i was going to buy the Mac Dassleglass in Fantabulous as it was a gorgeous purple with blue specks, but this..being ALOT cheaper and having a similar appeal grabbed my attention. I LOVE IT. It's my new favourite lipgloss. It's not overly cheap at around £8-9 but it's alot cheaper than the dazzleglasses, plus this comes with a cute mirror on the side and lights for applying gloss in dark places.. :)

Some rather rubbish swatches.. (Sorry girlies...The snazzy camera is not so good at focusing on closeups in artificial light..think this shot took about 20 attempts)[Top to Bottom: GOSH Light N Shine in NO.5 (does not do it justice AT ALL), Mac Hue, Barry M Lip paint in NO.53, GOSH Eye base - no name, just black tube)

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend..I'm off to play the Sims now..ha

6 products I couldn't live without tag

I was tagged by "AbbieandBrian" (Make-up reviews) :)

Hhmm, I had NO idea how hard it would be to find 6 things i couldn't live with out, I found out that really, i could live without alot of the things i've bought, which makes me feel bad that i've spent so much but good that i'm not as materialistic as i thought. :) I probabaly COULD live without all these things BUT these are the products i always repurchase and love.

  1. Satin Taupe Eyeshadow by Mac - I adore this eyeshadow. It's definately my most used shadow, and goes with every look.
  2. Palmers cocoa butter moisturiser with gradual tanner - Love it. Love it. Love it. Smells of chocolate and leaves the skin a perfect colour.
  3. GOSH touch up concealer in no.2 - If you've read any of my previous posts you may have noticed me mentioning this? It's the best thing since sliced bread. Need i say more?
  4. Lancome Hynose Mascara - UH-MAZ-ING! I've had compliments on my eyelashes SO many times when i've worn this mascara.
  5. Bare Escentuals mineral foundation - I know that bare escentuals is like marmite, some love it, some hate it. I really like this because i have dry skin, and sometimes i find that a liquid foundation just sits on top and makes this worse, whereas a mineral foundation sinks in and blends aswell as give a natural colour. I have tried SOOO many different liquid foundations, but i always find myself coming back to this.
  6. Carmex - I really don't need to explain this one. Holy grail lip balm.

I tag everyone who hasn't done this yet, please have a go, id love to know if anyone found it as hard as me to find 6 things you always go back to?

Shopping Wreckage.

My boyfriend came to see me this weekend, and I also got paid yesturday, so what better way to celebrate than to go for a little shop? I wasn't really planning on buying much, and really...i don't think i did too bad, no serious damage anyway ;)

First stop was superdrug where I bought the following things:
First, I picked up the Rimmel London moisture renew lipstick in "Nude Delight". This colour is a really light wearable nude, it's also very pigmented and goes on very smooth. I have really dry chapped lips most of the time, but this lipstick doesn't accentuate that, which i like because i find alot of lipsticks have the tendency to do that. I also found that it has a great staying power! And was only £4.37!
I then went over to the Gosh counter where I noticed they had a 3 for 2 deal...how can you not get roped into that? I picked up my holy grail under eye concealer (no 2), a "Cool lip jam" in 107 and a foundation brush. The lipgloss is really nice, it's just the right consistency (not too sticky, not too runny) althought i do wish it had a little more pigmentation. It comes out quite sheer, but then i didn't exactly pick a very daring colour! I did question the "cool" in it's title, but after applying it, i can see exactly why. It has a tingling cooling sensation, almost as if you were applying a peppermint lipgloss, although this smells of sweets :) another bonus. The foundation brush appealed to me because i have been using the mac 187 brush to do my foundation, but i have found that its started to make it look streaky, so thought i would try something else. It's SO soft, I'm looking forward to trying it out. Anybody else tried it?

After superdrug i went to LUSH *sighs* that place has me hooked. They were handing out free fruit today, crazy times..although it was amazing to see the amount of people that didnt take anything, maybe they thought there was a catch..haha bit of psychology for you there. Anyway...These are my purchases...
I appologise if you're sick of seeing things from LUSH, but i really don't care :)

On the left is the "vanilla founatin" bath ballistic, This has the same scent as the heavenilli massage bar, which i love. Then next to that is "ma bar" which is a chocolate and honey toffee bubble bar. I really want to eat this. :( Then the pretty flowery one is called "Pop in the bath" (not as original or catchy as the other names) but smells gorgey.

The hand cream (on the right) is called "handy gurugu". The lady in lush said it was the most moisturising of the hand creams. This stuff is amazing. I LOVE it. I can see myself buying pot after pot of this and applying it religiously. It soaks in so quickly, and doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy, yet it is so moisturising. The texture is alot like sudocrem, quite thick but also very fluffy and light. If you have dry hands like me, try this out.

In H&M i was browsing through the makeup and found these, I am super surprised by their pigmentation, i think they were £2.99 each!
The First is a gorgeous silver glitter dark grey. It looks quite black in real life, but on the picture it has come out quite alot lighter. The second is a gorgeous shimmery golden brown, i LOVE this colour. They are about the same size as a Mac blush. Look how pigmented they are with one swipe!I also picked up this pretty pale pink lipgloss...this tastes of watermelon. It's not very pigmented but hey, for £3.99 it's bloody amazing. It has a really nice consistency too!

I also picked these up from "Topshop" and "Cult"

Thought both would look good with leggings :) Hope you've all had a good saturday!

Spending Moolah.

I picked up these goodies last week...

(Sorry for the crapola picture...)

  • "Redhead" MSF: Love this, it works as a blush and a highlighter and is the perfect shade for my skintone...although i don't have a red-head but the brunette MSF was more of a bronzer.
  • "Blackground" paint pot: I have wanted this for a while, and it was between this or the brown one, but i thought this would be good for a smokey eye effect. I tried it out last week and it really makes colours pop, and smokey eye is even easier with this used as a base.
  • Brush 226 (Small tapered blending): This is amazing, it's the perfect size for blending in the crease. I was put off by the 224 as it was too big for my eye, and now MAC have come up with this one..a must have!
  • Brush 165 (Tapered Cheek/Highlight): Again, another amazing brush by MAC, I have wanted them to bring one out like this for ages, so obviously I had to buy it. Makes applying highlighter as easy as pie.
  • NARS "Hula Hula" eyeshadow duo: My boyfriend bought me this as part of my valentines present. I love it. The Girl at the counter had this on, and it looked fab! On the Nars website it is described as "Strawberry with gold particles and hazelnut with gold glitter particles" Although I think it's more gold than hazlenut.
  • GOSH "Bananas" Velvet Touch Liner: I bought this after watching Lollipop26's video on youtube, She wore it in the corners of her eyes and it looked fab!

New Year...New Makeup?

When shopping the other day, I noticed that all makeup in Superdrug was 3 for 2. This doesn't happen too often, not across ALL the beauty brands. Since I haven't splashed out on makeup in a long while as Christmas left me penny less after buying for everyone else, I decided to take Superdrug up on their offer. To be totally fair, I had my eye on at least 4 of these items for a long time & went straight for them.

L'oreal Studio Secrets HD Smoothing Foundation - I have wanted to try this for ages. The brush on the end intrigued me & the fact it was "HD" meant it was something a little different from anything i've previously tried.
Gosh Touch Up Concealer - Yes, i still swear by this concealer...on blemishes and under my eyes. I was running low so being practical I bought a back up. Read a review of the concealer here.
MeMeMe Coral Blush - Again, I have wanted this for a while, since summer in fact. Benefit's Coralista kept me going but saw this on a few blogs & instantly knew i had to have it. I think coral blushers suit me the most, whether the sun is shining or the snow is falling.
MeMeMe Highlighter in "Moonbeam" (The pinkier one) - I was going to splash out on Benefits expensive version of this, which I do have a sample of that came in one of the kits & it has run out. Alas, I decided that with it's slightly re invented packaging (a black lid), and it's almost identical properties I would try this one. So far I have noticed it's not as opaque but still does a marvellous job.
MeMeMe Highlighter in "Sunbeam" (The golder one) - I actually think i prefer this one so far. It will be gorgeous in the summer mixed with foundation or just worn on cheekbones. I have a bit of a thing with liquid highlighters.
Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara - I've been using Max Factor False Lash Effect & I love it, but I am running dry & so wanted to try out a new mascara. My Mum has this & loves it, as well as other bloggers across the interwebz who have sung it's praises, so I thought i'd give it a go myself.

Have you taken advantage of the Superdrug 3 for 2? If not, i would suggest you get yourself to a good store and pick out a few things you've wanted to try out. I can review items individually if you'd like after i've given them a fair shot? Let me know.
