Mac Makeover at LFW

 Me & Lily

So, I had these photo's stored away in my "Things I want to blog about" file, and although I feel a little late to the party blogging about LFW when that was "so yesterday", I still wanted to share these photos with you. I went along with Zoe (The London Lipgloss) and Lily (What I Heart Today) to get their makeup done by the mac artists at London Fashion Week. I had tried to book one myself, but all the slots had been fully booked on the first day (obviously). I enjoyed watching the girls get their makeup done, and took some snaps for them so they could blog about it etc. Once the lovely girl doing Lily's makeup had finished, she asked me if I'd like a little "touch up", being a typical polite and reserved english girl, I half said "Oh nooo, not to worry! You don't have time before your next slot", but Lily insisted (she knew deep down I was screaming out for a free makeover haha). I sat down in the chair and she worked her magic. She touched up my lipstick with mac's cherry lipliner and russian red lipstick and created a really cool cat eye with blacktrack fluidline. I totally wish I could do that to my own eyes, but I know i'd fail miserably.

I also have some snaps of Lily and I doing some awful LFW posing. "How NOT to pose outside Somerset House"...?

Do you ever experiment a little more with your eyeliner? I had never thought something like that could actually be quite wearable but I would totally wear this on a day to day basis! Would you?

Show Orchid

Last night I went out with my girlies. In all honesty, I didn't leave much time to spruce myself up. I had no time to wash my hair so sat and thought what the heck i could do with it in it's current (not so fresh) state. I went for a somewhat Pixie Lott/Cheryl Cole do; Backcombing it and simply putting it up in a pony tail with a center parting. Very quick and very easy!

It was the Cheryl Cole hair inspiration which brought me onto the makeup. Cheryl is known for her bright pink lip, and as i own the Mac Lipstick Show Orchid (which I haven't shown some love for in a while) I decided to opt for that. Obviously having a bright lip means dulling down on the eye makeup, so i kept that fairly neutral.

Face:
♥ Mac Studio Fix Fluid & Mac Strobe Liquid mixed together (essential for a glow in the winter)
♥ Mac Moisture Cover concealer
♥ Benefit Erase Paste in no 1 under eyes/inner corners
♥ Bare Escentuals Foundation in Medium Beige lightly dusted to set
♥ Mac MSF in So Ceylon on cheeks/cheek bones
Eyes
♥ Mac E/S in Nano Gold all over lid
♥ Mac E/S in Espresso in crease
♥ L'oreal Superliner in Carbon Gloss
♥ Maybelline False Lash Effect Mascara
Lips
♥ Mac Show Orchid Lipstick (pro product)

And here are a few poopy webcam shots so you can see my hair a bit better! :)

Shop Zoella

As of late, it has become increasingly clear i have a lot of things i just do not use. Clothes and makeup mainly and the odd accessory/electrical item. I do love having a good Blogsale but there is so much hassle involved with a massive list of items for sale on one post, i find it can get a bit much scrolling through 50+ comments to see who got what.

So for this reason, i have decided to create my very own blog shop. Don't be fooled into thinking it's going to be an all singing, all dancing proper shopping website, it has all the same elements of this blog, but im hoping it will be so much easier to maintain and sort through. Also giving you all the option of searching for something you might want. Have no fear, it shall be very straight forward, i don't do complicated. I could have chucked it all on Ebay, but i like to give my blog readers a chance to grab it first, and Ebay is the devil for selling - I dont want to pay for more than one detailed photo thankyou very much.

The same rules will apply when asking to buy an item, just simply state your paypal email and your country. Which also brings me on to say it is Interntational :)

The posts will just be in MUCH smaller batches rather than the typical 20+ items, so makes life easier for the both of us in the long run.

Click the Shop Header Below to take you to the website, or the widget to the right (which some of you have already spotted, and for that, i praise you for being alert, loyal bloggers) Please go and follow & give the info a quick read before i start putting items up for sale.

There will definitely be something for everyone, i have way too much stuff which you need to take off my hands.

I would really appreciate if you could spread the word about the shop, obviously not all of you are always interested in my blogsales but it's worth a follow just to keep updated with any new items.

Thankyou fellow bloggies.

Depotting & Finished Mac Palette

For the past few months I kept asking myself the question..

"To depot...or not to depot"

I have quite a few mac shadows now, my collection is forever growing, and when it comes to putting on my eye makeup, i have to admit, some days i just grab the nearest little black container and away we go.

I do miss the days when i had about 4 shadows, and could easily find the shade i wanted.

So, because of this, i decided to depot.

i have around 20 shadows all together

(do not add this up in your head..it will depress me) :)

Some are limited edition in pretty containers so i won't be depotting those & some i just didnt like enough to go in my palette, am thinking of doing a blogsale to get rid ;)

(thoughts on that please)

To depot, i followed the gorgeous Vicky's (Peachykeencheeks) video on youtube.

It was super helpful :) Ta Vic!

So without further a-do here is my finished palette...

Top row L-R : Retrospeck, Woodwinked, Sable, Romp, Corduroy

Middle row L-R: Shroom, All that glitters, Trax, Amber lights, Smut

Bottom row L-R: Style Snob, Satin Taupe, Star Violet, Texture, Carbon

As you can see, im extremely adventurous when it comes to colour...

It's pretty satisfying & now i can open it up and actually pick the colour i wanted instead of routing around turning every pot over for the name.

I would advise any of you that havent depotted to give it a go.

and if you are thinking

"Mm, but what if i go away and want seperate colours?"

Then my lovely, just buy a 4 quad palette and place the colours you want to take with you.

Shimples. :)

A few new purchases...

It was really sunny on sunday, so me & Jack decided to drive to Cardiff for a little mooch/shop.
They have an Illamasqua counter in the Debenhams there, so OBVIOUSLY i was going to check out some of the products as i have been waiting SO patiently to see in the flesh.

But first, i'll go through other things i bought.
The pearl necklaces were both Primarni. One on the left was £3 & the one on the right was £2.
Can't go wrong with pearls..every girl should own some.
:)

Soap & Glory - Feel the KneadThis is, quite possibly, my favourite S&G product to date.
In all honesty, i bought this because it intrigued me.
Ever seen soap shaped like this?
It smells amaaazing. Really fresh smelling.
When i used this, i was pleasantly surprised. It seemed to exfoliate, lather and leave my skin so smooth, as well as massage away all the cellulite.
Haha, okay the cellulite wasn't gone after my bath but its nice to think this might actually budge it if used religiously.
I'm actually looking forward to my next bath so i can use this again.
sad no? haha

Soap & Glory - I-Foam Body washI took one sniff of this and threw it in my basket.
Not alot to say on this one in all honesty, it smells bleddy amazing, lathers amazing & just does everything it says on the bottle.
BUY IT NAAOO

Illamasqua Lipstick - Obey
It's funny because i have my little wishlist on the right of products i most definitely wanted to swatch and see up close,
But when i got to the actual counter, i was so overwhelmed with all the different colours and the girl constantly trying to paint my face i didnt really take it all in properly.
Also Jack was standing with me and i didnt want to take all day haha
So i went straight to the lippies and this one took my fancy. It looks gorgeous on, a colour i definitely dont have and it lasted SO long on my lips.
So far i am very impressed with the Illamasqua Lipsticks.

Illamasqua Cream Blusher - SobThis was the cream blush that really stood out to me.
It is very similar to the powder blush in "Katie" and the MA put both on each of my cheeks and we both agreed that the cream blush looks alot more natural on me.
I LOVE IT.
I wore it the other day, and it lasted me HOURS.
Something the Mac cream blushes FAIL miserably to do on my skin.
I need more of these in my collection. They are so worth the money!
Very generously, Jack bought me both Illamasqua products.
He's always so sneaky, and when i go to pay, he jumps in & shoves his card in the machine.
I love them both thankyou so much Jack :)

Mac Eyeshadow - Style SnobThis eyeshadow is part of the "Love that look" collection in Mac at the moment.
These shadows are amazing, i love the Starflash finish & can only urge you all to check it out.
I want almost all of the shadows, but being very good, i came away with just one.
Might have to sneak back for a few more. ;)

Mac Eyeshadow - Amber Lights
I didn't own this shadow...& i couldnt believe i didn't own it.
It was always one of those shadows i'd swatch on my hand and then just leave the shop over and over and over.
I decided on buying it this time as when i swatched it, Jack loved the colour & really wanted me to wear it.
He probabaly secretly knew i always wanted it, and persuaded me :)
I love this colour, orangey tones compliment blue eyes and all that ;)

So that is my little shopping load.
It's not much, but i thought i'd share my first experiences with Illamasqua up close.
Although, im pretty sure they didn't have the whole range..it didn't seem like they did, unless i was so in ore i totally misjudged the amount.
The girl was really nice, and gave me a mini makeover.
Can't wait to see the stand in Selfridges with the beauty bloggers in a week
:)

July Favourites.

These are a selection of my most used/favourite products in July!

Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover
I have always wanted to try this, and when my Johnsons eye makeup remover proved to be a tad poopy, and botanics range was buy on get one half price, i decided to buy some.
This stuff is AWESOME.
It removes everything so effortlessly, doesn't irritate my eyes and lasts for ages.
I've been using this about for 3 weeks and it still looks like i've used nothing.
It was only £2.93 in Boots & i will be buying more when i run out.
A nice cheap subsitute for my favourite Lancome eye makeup remover :)

Barry M Lip Gloss - Number 4 - Pastel Pink
These gloss wands are super pigmented. I am very impressed with them.
I also LOVE the smell, it reminds me of strawberry flavour yoghurt. yuumm.
I have been wearing this alot without lipstick underneath (as personally i dont think you need it with this gloss)
It's not too sticky & lasts a decent amount of time too.
Well done Barry M, they are FAB!

Bed Head Tigi Superstar Volume Serum
I have had my eye on this for a while, and bought it last month for around £8 in a House of Fraser outlet. I love a serum that promises volume boost, anything with "Volume" i will most likely purchase.
You really don't need alot of this to notice results.
Again, i have been using this everytime i've washed my hair over the last 5-6 weeks and the bottle still looks as full as the day i purchased it.
It makes the hair bouncy, soft and easy to style.
The consistency is very runny, it's more of an oil than a cream or serum really.
I apply it to the roots of my hair and on the crown of my head when wet, blowdry and voilaa.
If you are a "volume junky" then i suggest you look into this little gem.
The bottle looks pretty on my dressing table too :)
I'm deffo going to check out more in the "Superstar" range.

Mac Daft Pink Blush
I bought this a few weeks ago from the Colour Craft collection & have been wearing it on an almost daily basis.
At first i was like...hmm..theres no way i can wear all this shimmer on the apples of my cheeks.
But do you know what?
I have been. haha
Obviously with matte everything else though.
It gives a gorgeous glowy effect and im seriously loving it.

Loreal Voluminous Mascara
Before a month ago, i had never been able to find this mascara.
Hearing everyone rave about it, i really wanted to give it a go.
I did however, magically manage to find it in a superdrug near me and obviously bought it.
(I have heard they are bringing it back? maybe that's why it was surprisingly easy to find it this time? enlighten me someone...haha)
Anyway, i really love the effect this mascara has. I now know why everyone raved about it.
The quality of this mascara is almost equal to many high end branded ones.
Although, i can't say it's overtaken my love for Hypnose...just been a fab cheap replacement.
Thumbs up for Voluminous!

Last night was my gorgeous maties birthday bash. We call him "Mouse" but he's actually called Alex.
He turned 19, & my other friendlings organised for a secret limo to pick him up outside his house & then went on to Bath for drinky poo's.

I had a MAJOR panick about what to wear. I don't think i've ever been so bad. Numerous outfits are now strewn across my bedroom floor in an attempt to find something nice...you all know what i mean! ;)
Even with the fullest of wardrobes like mine...it's always a struggle to pull an outfit together.

Mac Colour Craft.

Colour Craft's release date was ever so confusing..
"It's out on the 13th"
"It's available on the web on the 9th/10th"
Yet was in my shop & a few others i have noticed the same day/day after as the web release date.
This could be down to the impatient Mac staff just wanting to get it all displayed, so yay.

I was SO tempted to order online when i noticed it was on the site, but i thought
"No, i will wait & see it in person as i don't want to get anything i regret"

So that is what i did.
I already had a little list of things that had caught my eye. Mainly the 131 brush as i am ever the brush fanatic.

My thoughts on the whole collection...
A few months ago, when i saw that this collection was going to be released, my tongue started wagging. (!)
I really do love the mineralized products mac usually comes up with as i have very dry skin, thus finding it pretty difficult to get that "glow" & i always think the products help achieve this.
When on close inspection in mac, i noticed that the previous excitement & hype surrounding the collection sort of...slowly vanished.
Don't get me wrong, there was some absolute gems in the collection but it was alot more "Shimmery" than i first thought.
The first mineralized blushes mac came out with were very pigmented & weren't overly shimmery, the second (duos) came with the option of shimmer...but it seems they've combined the 2 to come up with these. They look SO pretty, but i think a little too shimmery to wear on my cheeks, so instead i will probabaly use it as a blush/highlight (like an MSF)
The MSF's were so pretty also, but is it me..or are they all starting to look a little too similar? Although it must be kindof difficult coming up with something so different everytime.
The eyeshadows i passed on as i have so many already, and nothing really stood out to me as being something i'd wear alot that i didnt already have something similar. Although they do look pretty & interesting, but i dont really have the money for "interesting"
The lipglosses i also passed on.
The brushes were quite good. I liked that they brought out a completely different brush and re-promoted the 226 (which i already have from the BBR collection & love). & I have heard that the 131 is amazing to apply liquid foundation.
Overall i was pleased with what i purchased, but not that dissapointed that i didnt fall in love with anything else..as it would have meant more money. :)

Colour Crafted Lipstick
Pretty Pretty.
I really do LOVE this lipstick. The perfect wearable pink.

I've seen/heard a few people comparing it to Saint Germain..when in actual fact..i don't think they're anything like eachother. Saint Germain is more opaque & much more of a purple toned pink. Whereas the Colour Crafted lippy is alot more wearable with a peachy undertone...

Triple Fusion MSFI got this one, as i thought it a nice medium of pinks/browns/golds.
I do really like this..although i do think that it is quite similar to the "Redhead MSF" which i purchased earlier in the year. However, the colour payoff on this one is much better & the consistency alot smoother. The colours are also alot more shimmery...and i actually found them to be quite crumbly because of this.

Triple Fusion & Redhead MSF
Daft Pink Blush
This is gorgeous to look at. The veining looks so pretty, but as i said earlier..maybe a little too shimmery for the apples of your cheeks...unless you were on a night out..or you like the shimmery look :)

131 Brush
This looks promising...I really wanted this ever since i saw they were releasing it. I actually see brushes a bit of investment as you pay good money for good quality & even if you're makeup routine changes with time...you'll always have a good brush to apply it! My mum has had a mac brush for about 6 years...and its still going as strong as ever.

I have put the 131 beside the 187 just for size difference. As you can see from the image above..the 131 is alot more dense. Which means it could be a high contender for applying liquid foundation...we shall see :)

So that's my little Colour Craft splurge.
Let me know what you got & if you think i'm leaving anything out?

June Favourites.

I know it's the 2nd July, but i never managed to pop this in at the end of June.
So..here are my June Favourites.
The selection of items i have been LOVING this month...

Palmers Cocoa Butter - Skin Soothing Lotion
This stuff is amazing. It has Shea butter & Alpha/Beta Hydroxy which removes dead skin cells to reveal healthier looking skin. I LOVE palmers. If any of you aren't familar with the range, i highly suggest you check it out. There lotions are so moisturising & I highly reccomend them. Their gradual tanner is one of my HG procuts. This lotion isnt too thick in consistency & sinks into the skin really quickly, & it really does remove dead skin cells. It smells yummy too.

Bare Escentuals Skin Revver-Upper
I have already done a review on this product, which you can find HERE. I have been using it everyday under my moisturiser & it has made a noticeable difference to the appearance of my skin.

St Moriz Fake Tan
Now, i have only recently had this product but i can safetly say, that it is the easiest, nicest fake tan i have ever used. It dries quickly, it doesn't feel sticky or greasy & more importantly, IT WORKS! You can get this in some tkmaxx's & Home Bargains but i never saw any in my nearest Tk Maxx & i don't have a Home Bargains anywhere near me so the ever so lovely Kelly sent it on over to me. The most amazing thing about this FAB fake tan..is the price. It's £2.99. Quite a massive decrease from St Tropez isn't it?
It did leave my bedsheets a little orange, & does have a slight fake tan smell...but it's nothing unbearable like most & the orange-ness didnt stain the sheets & washed straight out so i think for £2.99 its worth it :)

Body Shop Shimmer Cubes
These gorgeous eyeshadows have really impressed me. I was sent the smokey one by the Body Shop to test & review & the other i picked up for 40p at the bootsale.
The colour's are really pigmented and have a great texture. None are crumbly besides a couple which i found to be a little "dusty" (shall we say).
[Full review will be coming soon, along with other BS items]

2True Liquid Liner
I'm not 100% sure of the exact price of this liner, but i know that you can buy 3 products from the 2true range for £5. And honestly..DO IT because this liquid eyeliner, in my opinion..is amazing. I have been using the Rimmel Exxagerate liner but found that when my eyes watered it smudged like crazy & just wouldn't stay put, which is a shame because i loved the applicator. So i scoured my eyeliners & pulled this one out that i had stashed away. I put it on..(with ease might i add) & it did its job marvellously.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Zoom Length Mascara
I got this small tester size mascara in with some freebies when i bought some EL lipsticks a while ago. I wore this mascara to death through the middle of June & slowly stopped using it as i realised it was SO good, it was actually becoming very hard to remove properly. If you are in desperate need of a mascara that DOES NOT BUDGE, whether you have hayfever, or naturally runny eyes, you need this mascara in your life. I really love it but i just didnt think my eyelashes would cope with me wearing it everyday. The formula is good, the brush is good, it just does everything it says on the tube. The price tag for a full size is pretty hefty at £17.50 but really, i think it's worth it. I'm going to be using this for special occasions because i know it works :)

Mac Lipglass Florabundance
I looove this lipgloss. I love the colour, i love the consistency, the smell. Everything. I think it's overtaken Oyster Girl as my favourite lipglass. :O

Estee Lauder Lipstick in Pink Sand
When purchasing the "vanilla truffle" EL lipstick, the MA suggested that as i liked pinky/nude tones for my lips, i would love "Pink Sand" which i'm sure she said was Gwenyth Paltrow's signature lipstick colour & that she wore it on her wedding day. I have to admit, the packaging doesnt really do it for me, but i love the weight of it. It feels special haha. & the colour is just gorgeous. I prefer it to Mac's Angel. & it has a nice taste/smell too.

BareMinerals Faux Tan
I have done a review of this product HERE.
I don't have much else to say aboout this that i haven't already said, other than the fact this is now my HG bronzer...I LOVE it & i use this everyday now. I feel naked without it.

So those are my June Favourites.
I hope you enjoyed..
If any of you can ever reccommend something to me you think i'd like, Please do. :)
Have a lovely evening all.
