GlossyBox 1st Birthday Box | May 2012

GlossyBox £10 per month + £2.95 P&P*

This month GlossyBox are celebrating their first birthday. I can't believe a whole year has passed since they first came on the scene, it only feels like yesterday! I was quite chuffed with this box, not my favourite, but still some great products included which I can't wait to try. They also included two little extras as a Birthday treat.

Inside the box:

Pink Balloon - This needs no explanation, but what a cute thoughtful extra! It is sitting on my desk all pink and balloon-y.

GlossyBox Compact Mirror -  Every girl needs a compact mirror to keep on their bedside table, in their handbag or on their desk at work, so this was a nice extra surprise this month.

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel - I have to be honest, I now have a PILE of shower gels that I'm currently trying to battle my way through, so I wasn't enthralled when I saw this, however, it is amazing! Noble Isle is a new British bath and body brand inspired by the natural and cultural riches of the British Isles. It smells really nice and refreshing!

Lolita Lempicka L'eau en Blanc and Eau de Parfum - For a while now, I've been meaning to pick up some Lolita Lempicka perfume samples, as I've heard good things about the fragrances. I also love the name and the packaging! I love both of these scents. They are really light, soft and girly. Perfect for summer days. I think my favourite of the two is the Eau De Parfum, and I may even need to pick up the full size.

Apivita Express Beauty Masks - I haven't ever heard of this brand, but these masks sound a real treat. They exclude synthetic ingredients and replace water with green tea infusion to enhance the antioxidant action. These masks claim to be 90% natural, so i'm looking forward to giving these a try. I do love a good face mask

Osmo Berber Oil Hair Treatment - More recently, I've really been into hair oils and treatments, so I was pleased to find this buried in my shredded paper. It includes argan oil to help restore dry/damaged hair. It also claims to reduce drying time (something that takes a good while for me). It also contains UV filters to protect from the sun and styling tools. Really looking forward to putting this to the test, my hair could do with a bit of TLC after all the sunny weather we've been having.

HD Brows Grow Baby Grow - This also really stood out to me as a "winning box product". Although I'm fairly happy with my eyebrows as they are, I would love to fill out a few sparse gaps in between. This serum encourages rapid growth by increasing the blood circulation and provides essential nutrients. I will most certainly report back if this takes any effect!

What did you think of the Birthday box?

Birthday Fun & Frolics

So most of you will probably know by now, that not too long ago, my good chum Louise turned 25 again, and I went up to stay with her, to launch our new shop, and to celebrate her day of birth. We took a  little road trip to Fleur's house in the evening, for pre-drinks and a jolly good hoo-hah, and then went out for a few tipples-on-the-town. (I wasn't drinking, just in case you were worried I "road tripped" under the influence haha). Whilst at Fleurs, I took some photo's, which I loved so much I just had to share them with you all. How GORGEOUS do they both look?

I also revealed Louise's secret birthday video to her, which if you've not seen yet, you can view HERE. You can watch Louise's vlog of the few days I spent there HERE, and Fleurs vlog of evening antics HERE. It will almost feel as if you are there celebrating with us :) Also keep your eyes peeled on my YouTube channel for my vlog too. I think I may have overused the word "vlog" in this blog post! VLOG VLOG VLOG.

My 22nd Birthday Shenanigans

* Chilling on the beach * A shot of me on the beach * The Harbour x 2 * Pretty pastel houses * Bunting street shot * Prettiest bouquet of flowers i've ever had from my mummy * Cerne Abbas naughty man * Me & the naughty man * Looking intently at the sign (I was hoping to discover why they thought they'd put a penis on the naughty man, no such luck i'm affraid) * My chocolate sweety cake*

It literally only feels like yesterday that I turned 21, and here I am, one year later, still blogging & enjoying life. Although I am slightly bitter, as I was hoping to stay 21 forever.

This year, I wanted to be beside the seaside, and thankfully, the weather was on my side this year & my birthday fell right in the week of sun & summer weather. To be honest, that made my day perfect regardless of what I did. The sun is an instant mood booster for me. The original plan was to head over to Brighton for the night, but after we'd spent the morning chilling & opening cards etc, we realised that by the time we'd done the 3+ hours car journey, we wouldn't get much of the day to fit everything in, and I want to go to Brighton when we have a few days to make sure we don't miss anything. So, instead, we headed off in the opposite direction for only 2 hours, to Weymouth. Weymouth is a little seaside town, and has a really pretty scenic drive (It's all about the road trip too - cheesy music and Haribo). I basically just wanted sand, sea, sun...and an arcade (who doesn't love the penny slots) . We had a lovely evening just chilling on the beach, wasting money in the arcade & buying rubbish food to take back to our little hotel room (which looked out onto the beach). The next day, whilst heading home after another day of ice creams on the beach and arcade fun, we drove a pretty little countryside route through old villages with pretty houses. We then found ourselves in Cerne Abbas, the home of the rudey man on the hill. So we pulled over and did a little photo shoot (I would love to be able to show you the extent of our silly photoshoot, but it is just too daft...haha). It was the perfect little birthday getaway.

My 21st Birthday

Pre-warning : Very picture heavy post :)

How scary do I look here? ha.
Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday. I was overwhelmed. I will admit, getting lots of Birthday messages is quite satisfying (in a possibly quite selfish way haha) but it is the one day of the year that is supposedly "all about you". Although I do share my Birthday with Lady Gaga, but I think I can cope with that.
For those of you who have been following my blog and twitter for a while, you'll know that I was having a really hard time trying to decide on a 21st Birthday gift. I decided to opt for a DSLR. Ever since I was 17, I've wanted one, but have always had to make do with a nifty little digital camera. It took me quite some time trying to decide which model/brand to go with. You ask someone who owns a Nikon, they say Nikon, you ask someone who owns a Canon, they say Canon. Although when doing all my research and handling them in various shops what felt like hundreds of times, I decided that I liked the Canon EOS 600D (It's called something else internationally I think). I believe it is a fairly new model, but I am already in love with it.

I had a fabulous Birthday, which sort of took place over the whole weekend aswell as my actual day of birth. On Sunday we had family round, and I got to use my new camera. The cake was ordered from Patisserie Valerie, and let me tell you, it was as delicious as it looks. Mum bought little sparklers for it, but we had great trouble trying to light them, and once lit, they burnt down quicker than you could light another. It was quite hilarious. The framed print above was a present from my parents, it's little sketches of the City I live in/very close to. If any of you are familiar with Bath, it is gorgeous and extremely quaint. I love this print, I'm going to keep it forevs. It was bought from a street seller on the main High Street if anybody living close by, or if you're visiting wants one.

On my actual Birthday (yesterday) I had quite a relaxed morning, just opening cards and pressies. Me and Mum sat out in the garden and had our lunch, then like the old lady I have turned into, I had a nap due to the late night before, but also, who wants to go out with giant bags/dark circles undernearth their eyes? Some of my friends came over and we then all headed out to Jimmy Spices in Bath. I enjoyed myself immensely. Lot's of laughter and good times had by all. I didn't take my Canon out though, i'm too scared i'll break it. I'm pretty sure alcohol, heels and a brand new DSLR do not mix well. We watched some drunken girls making absolute fools of themselves. One completely flashing her buttocks and boob (including nipple flash), then falling flat on her arse at least twice and failing miserably to walk one foot in front of the other out of the door. How shameful. haha. All in all, A fabulous evening and an amazing 21st Birthday.

Cake - Patisserie Valerie
White Shirt - Primark
Rollers - Sallys
Playsuit - H&M
Blazer - New Look
Shoe Boots - New Look
Bag - Primark

Someday Summary - Friday

Yes. More of my geek glasses, and oh look, a geek to accompany them.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY IN 3 DAYS!
On the 28th March I'll be 21 years old. I know, I know. I don't look 21. I'm sure I will continue to be I.D'd for 18 films and cigarette paper (not for me might I add). I will still have my I.D questioned by bouncers outside nightclubs and bars and always quizzed on my postcode and middle name. Lot's of people call me "doll face". I'm thinking this is just a nicer way of saying "baby face". I'm not going to lie, I'd love to wake up on Monday morning with a mountain of cards and the postman knocking on the door with a huge bunch of flowers and helium balloon for me, however, this will not happen. haha. We can dream though right? I'm still not 100% sure of what i'm going to do on my Birthday. I didn't realise quite how indecisive I was. Whatever it may be, I will be sure to capture it and update you.
I was seriously so overwhelmed by the massive response to my last post. It had the most comments ever ever ever in my blogs entire history (I think). I'm so glad that so many of you could relate. I also love that it reassured you that you weren't the only ones. I know it reassured me immensely. I sat and read through every single comment, and felt a great accomplishment knowing i'd made so many of you feel so much better. I know it can be a pretty touchy subject, but 99% of you knew exactly where I was coming from. :)
I'm getting slightly bored of my blog. It's very basic and messy and just not very...advanced or well-put-together. If any of you techy-whizzy-geeks out there fancy designing me something or giving me any tips or ideas please feel free to email me. I'm definitely stuck in a rut. Also, what do you lot think? What is my blog lacking? I need your expertise and advice as you are obviously the ones who read it.
I am SO happy the sun is coming out, and I have decided this weekend that if the sun still has his hat on, I shall be whipping out the maxi dress and flipflop combo. Too early?
Just want to say a little (well, massive) thank you to everyone who follows my blog. I don't say it often, and I probably should, but I appreciate every single one of you; even if you don't follow my blog, but come by every now and then to check up on it. I also have over 14,000 subscribers on YouTube now, and this astonishes me. I swear i'm dull as dishwater?! I'm so pleased that so many of you enjoy reading/watching my rambling nonsense.I don't really understand it, but it makes me very happy. haha. I never was very good at speeches or public speaking. Now you can see why. *blushes*

Happy 3rd Birthday Zoella

source (http://thisisdtsnme.tumblr.com/)

So three years ago today, I sat down at my laptop (which has now given up on me & I've stolen my boyfriends laptop in order to do some blogging today - R.I.P Laptop) and "Zoella" was born. It's honestly flown by, I can't believe I was 18 when I started, and I'm now nearly 22. I have been given some seriously amazing opportunities through this little internet space, and met some truly special people. When I began, I didn't think it would end up where it has. I know it's not the top dog blog of the blogging world, but i'm incredibly amazed at how many of you follow and comment and support me. I appreciate every single one of you, and my blog certainly wouldn't be where it was today if it weren't for you all logging in and interacting with me! Now let's all have a boogy & a singsong to celebrate!

I'd love to know who has been reading from the start & which is your favourite blog post that i've written?
